ED FRINGE 2025 REVIEW: Articulate

The hidden gem of this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, Articulate follows two households who play a very tense, extremely competitive version of the popular 1992 board game. With a universal appeal, audiences of all ages will absolutely find something to enjoy, whether that’s solving the clues to the broken down spade question, or relating to to Silo, the housemate who loves to eat during the game, or simply the art of being around your friends and finding the fiery side to yourself.

With direction from Finn Hoegh-Guldberg and Penelope Gordon, the two households (Bourke and Vine Street) weave with ease as we peak into the lives of each apartment, all made up of housemates, through clever use of red and blue backdrops, with subtle hints to each of the teams colours through clothing also. All cast with individual highlights, you almost just wish the show could last that extra bit longer than the 50 minute runtime, as we get to know these characters with such knowledge, that it becomes a shame to leave them by the time the lights come down.
