ED FRINGE 2024 REVIEW: CHARACTER FLAW

CHARACTER FLAW

Clover, Underbelly Bristo Square

Writer and Performer Philippa Dawson has a lot going on in her life, as she navigates her life before a diagnosis which alters the way she has always thought. This is a show about ADHD, and many other things in which you realise you may have something in common with Pip, asking yourself the question ‘Might I too be on the Spectrum?’. Whilst not all the beats are met with definitive meaning, and there are points in which makes you feel like you’ve tread on the same point earlier in the run, Dawson gives a confident performance which eases us into the story. Character Flaw might also just have the best opening to a show I have seen in this year’s fringe, which sets the tone perfectly for the rest of proceedings.
